MY 'SUNS OUT' POST WORKOUT SMOOTHIE

MY 'SUNS OUT' POST WORKOUT SMOOTHIE

My ‘Suns Out’ Post – Workout Smoothie by Ells Kitchen Food

Ingredients:

  • Spinach
  • Strawberries

  • Blueberries

  • Frozen Banana

  • Organic Green Blends (I used natruya/optional)

  • Fresh Ginger

  • Almond Milk (or any plant-based milk)

Chia seeds (optional)

Method:
Literally super simple, throw all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth! Pour into your glass (or drink it straight out the blender) and top with chia seeds and enjoy!

Why these ingredients?

Not only are you getting a sturdy start on your 10 a day with this smoothie! The nutrients in this smoothie are perfect as your morning boost of post-workout option! Here’s a quick breakdown; Spinach – we all know, and love is a nutrient-rich vegetable full of potassium and magnesium which are ESSENTIAL for muscle growth! I try to add a leafy green to all of my smoothies to give it a good base!

Strawberries – the sweetest berry of them all are a perfect immunity booster, and many studies have shown Strawberries incredible benefits of reducing inflammation so have been linked with easing arthritis symptoms too!

Blueberries – are one of the highest antioxidant fruits, they’re super high in fibre and can reduce muscle damage after strenuous exercise too!

Frozen Banana – I personally add for the sweetness, people are so afraid of the sugars in bananas, but they are one of the nutrient-rich fruits supporting digestive health and adding fibre to the smoothie! It will also thicken the smoothie too, keeping you fuller for longer and releasing energy!!

Organic Green Blends – The brand I use and love is from Naturya, it has a combination of hemp, wheatgrass, barley grass, spirulina and chlorella powder! They’re what turn this smoothie into your super smoothie and nourish your body from the inside out! I personally only add this to the smoothie if I’m having it after a workout
